How to Address an Envelope

Child addressing an envelope

Envelope

To send your Cards by Kids greeting cards, a letter or thank you note to someone, we need to make sure that we write on the envelope clearly and place the postage stamp in the right place.

It is important to write very neatly in black or blue pen. You can use capital letters to make the address show up clearly.

Start the first line of the address almost halfway down the envelope and almost a third of the way across the long side of the envelope.

Address the person you are writing to by their title Mr, Mrs, Ms, Miss, Dr, Rev, Fr for example:

Miss Poppy Jones or Miss P Jones,
Dr John Corrigan or Dr J Corrigan,
Mrs Emily Smith or Mrs E Smith,
Mr Peter O'Connell or Mr P O'Connell

Your postage stamp is always stuck onto the envelope in the top right hand corner.
