Our Philosophy

The process of creating artwork plays a major role in children's development. Through pictures they show us their world. Though we may be depicted as triangles with curly hair and sticks for legs, or trees may grow out of the side of mountains under a smiling sun, the expression and imagination children use is unfettered and endless.

In an increasingly electronic age, children need to express themselves even if they use digital means. It is our belief at Cards by Kids that children need to interact through art and the written word to experience accomplishment and grow in confidence when their efforts are rewarded by the admiration and praise of parents and loved ones in a mutually satisfying experience.

Our professionally printed cards from children's artwork creates an outlet for children, parents and loved ones alike to receive and send a valuable keepsake with a truly personal message for any occasion.

While our main focus is children, art has a part to play in many areas of life. Whether you are a budding or professional artist, a student, graphic designer or you sketch, paint or draw just for fun, we can turn your artwork into a valuable medium to showcase your work for personal pride or professional purposes.

Who We Are

Lulu

The founder of Cards by Kids, IT specialist Lucinda Pentin suddenly found herself in Canada via Australia and England with two children and husband Steve. Settling in Vancouver B.C. she was shocked at how expensive greeting cards were. She had the idea to fundraise for her children's school using the children's artwork to create unique greeting cards. The resounding success of this event sowed the seeds for Cards by Kids and a business was born in 2006.

Denise

Denise Colebrooke is a Project Manager who ended up in the West of Ireland via England, New Zealand and Australia with a daughter and a black mare. Over the years she and Lulu had worked together and became long-standing friends despite living on opposite sides of the world. When Denise received a Cards by Kids card from Lulu she loved the concept and saw tremendous scope for the business in Europe. Denise and Lulu then spent the next few months tearing up the transatlantic phone lines and the European Cards by Kids business was launched in January 2009.
